On abortion in Poland-February 18, 2022

Poland now has an extremely restrictive abortion law. Some doctors are concerned enough about disobeying the law they appear to be refusing to do abortions even with a dead fetus and a sick mother. Two mothers have now died. It is unclear to me if the abortions in this situation would have been legal under the current law but surely the Polish legislature did not intend to require mothers to die with their fetuses?
